Project Brief: The goal of the project was to create a live experience with sound. It needed to be interactive and adaptive.
The DesIgn
"Lightscape incorporates color and sound to create a shared and interactive experience. It is fueled by curiosity to create different sounds. These sounds can be vaguely described as "alien" and change according to the Red Green and Blue levels of the pointed object. This transformation is done by two separate codes an Arduino code and a MAX/MSP script both written by me"
DesIgn Process
Before the physical design phase, I decided to get the code working with MAX. Here is a snippet from the code I wrote for color reading.
After this part was done I wrote the MAX script along with the algorithm that turns RGB values into sound.
The Experience
These are the videos of Lightscape's scans. I scanned the same room twice one with lights on and the other with lights off. The recordings are taken directly from MAX/MSP without any editing.
